A predominant street in Sunderland has “was a model new river” after a burst water predominant utterly flooded the street.

The A1231 Wessington Manner in Southwick is closed in each instructions between the A1231 Northern Spire close to the Sainsburys junction and Northern Manner. Northumbria Police are believed to have blocked off the street at round 5.15pm throughout rush hour on Wednesday.

JustEat driver Paul Bell has been caught up within the disruption describing it as a “ache within the bum”. He stated: “It is like a brand-new river. It has been blocked off from Sainsbury’s proper to the Queen Alexandra Bridge so I’ve needed to drive round different routes.

“Every thing is taking longer as a result of I am having to drive longer routes. If I’ve to select up from McDonald’s or KFC on Wessington Manner and must go in the direction of Roker I’ve to make use of longer routes. JustEat will not pay us for it as it is not their fault. Some drivers solely choose up from sure locations however I am going far and wide.
