A serious route on the Metro has been suspended resulting in chaos for commuters within the North East.

Metro operators Nexus confirmed that overhead wires had sagged because of the excessive warmth within the area in the present day (July 18). The injury resulted in providers being suspended between South Gosforth and Tynemouth.

Engineers at the moment are assessing the injury and are being readied to undertake repairs the place required.
