The Westlink has been closed in each instructions following a critical street collision.

Particulars of the crash are unclear, however the Northern Eire Ambulance Service has stated that they obtained a 999 name at 6.53pm, “following reviews of a RTC involving a motor cycle on the West Hyperlink in Belfast”.

An NIAS spokesperson added that “they despatched two Emergency Crews to the incident”.

The spokesperson added: “Following evaluation and preliminary remedy, no sufferers have been taken from the scene.”

The PSNI stated: “The Westlink in Belfast has been closed in each instructions between Broadway and Clifton Avenue following a critical street visitors collision.

“Officers are working to determine diversions, nevertheless, motorists are suggested to hunt various routes for his or her journey presently.

“Site visitors is being diverted off the M1 motorway at Stockman’s Lane.”

The Trafficwatch NI Twitter account has tweeted “A12 Westlink now CLOSED IN BOTH DIRECTIONS between Broadway and Clifton Avenue. Please search an alternate route. (19:33)”.

Earlier they tweeted: “#Belfast – A12 Westlink closed for M2 certain visitors. All visitors being diverted off at Grosvenor Highway. (19:16).”
