New high-speed rail services to Rome Fiumicino Airport

Three new high-speed rail providers linking Rome Fiumicino Airport to coach stations in Naples and Florence had been launched this week, making a direct connection between the hub airport and southern Italy.

The brand new Trenitalia ‘frecciarossa’ (excessive velocity) providers started on 11 July, connecting the airport to Napoli Centrale, Napoli Afragola and Florence Santa Maria Novella stations. In an effort to make the airport a ‘good hub’, practice timetables had been formulated to correspond with intercontinental flight arrival and departure instances.  

The brand new connections had been established following a sustainable mobility settlement signed in March between Rome Airports CEO Marco Troncone and Luigi Ferraris, CEO of FS Italiane Group, which owns Trenitalia.
