Aer Lingus Regional is to extend flights from Belfast Metropolis airport this summer season by including two new routes to UK cities.

The additional home UK providers will begin flying from Belfast to each Cardiff and Southampton from 7 July. Aer Lingus Regional’s flights are operated by Emerald Airways.

The Belfast Metropolis-Cardiff route will function 5 days per week on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Providers between Belfast and Southampton will function day by day.

Ciaran Smith, head of economic at Emerald Airways, stated: “As we close to the height summer season months, the launch of our Cardiff and Southampton providers will present these travelling from Belfast with extra alternative.”

The brand new routes are along with Aer Lingus Regional’s existing services from Belfast Metropolis to Birmingham, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford, Glasgow, Exeter and Manchester.

Ellie McGimpsey, aviation improvement supervisor at Belfast Metropolis airport, added: “Aer Lingus Regional’s base at Belfast Metropolis airport has been operational for simply over three months and we’re thrilled to already see enlargement in each the variety of routes served by the airline and the frequency of its providers.”
