Finnair has signed an settlement with sustainable aviation gasoline (SAF) producer Gevo to buy 7 million gallons of SAF per yr for 5 years, the airline introduced on Wednesday.

The settlement will start in 2027 and is valued at $192 million (approx. €183 million) over the five-year interval.

Finnair is a member of the Oneworld airline alliance, and this settlement is a part of the alliance’s plan to buy as much as 200 million gallons of SAF per yr from Gevo, who earlier this month signed a similar agreement with Japan Airlines.
